The Altar Candles are burning during the month of October in memory of +Kevin and
+Gregory Krofchik. May their memory be eternal!

The Candles Before the Iconostasis are burning during the month of October in memory of +John and +Mary Pipta. May their memory be eternal!

Thank You to our great group of kolácsi volunteers who helped with our third and final baking yesterday. Over the course of three separate weekends we have produced a total of 632 assorted kolácsi. Thank you to everyone who helped us accomplish this task!

Slavic Food Festival and Bake Sale:

Holupki: On Friday, October 18, we will begin the holupki making process by cooking the cabbage and preparing the individual leaves for stuffing; on Saturday, October 19, we will complete the process with stuffing, cooking, cooling and freezing the holupki. We are in need of extra hands for the cooling, storing, and cleaning up phase of the project beginning around 12:00 Noon.

Haluški: We will make haluški on Tuesday (cut the cabbage) and Wednesday (cook the cabbage and make the haluški), October 29 and 30, beginning at 9:00 AM.

Flyers: Food Festival Flyers can be found in the Social Hall and the Church. Please take the flyers and distribute them among friends and neighbors and post them on your local community bulletin board, supermarkets, etc.

Raffle Tickets are available for each parish household and may be picked up in the Social Hall today. The cost of the tickets is $1.00 each with 6 for $5.00. Each envelope contains 24 tickets-for a total cost of $20.00.

Bake Goods: Our Bake Sale is a significant source of income. Besides our own kolácsi, the wide selection of your homemade baked goods is a draw to our Food Festival. In order to help with pricing, slicing, display, etc., we ask you to bring your baked goads as early as possible — either on Friday, November 1 or early on Saturday, November 2″ . It also helps if you label the items you bake and list the prominent ingredients and the approximate cost to make the items. Some of our patrons request sugar-free and gluten-free items — if you prepare any such items, please make note that information.

Slavic Food Festival: Thank you to everyone who donated flour, sugar, butter, margarine, and eggs for our Food Festival preparations. These items along with several cash donations have significantly lowered our expenses in producing the kolácsi — otherwise an extremely expensive project. At this point we have sufficient supplies for making haluški — with the possible exception of butter and margarine which is need for both haluški and pirohi.
