Blessing of Cars: Commemorating the miraculous ascension of Elias into heaven on a fiery chariot, it has become the tradition in the Byzantine Church to bless cars and other modes of transportation on his Feast. The blessing of cars will take place today following the Divine Liturgy.

Otpust: This year will mark the 80th annual Pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Mount St. Macrina in Uniontown, PA on Labor Day weekend, Saturday, August 30th and Sunday, August 31th.

Pilgrimage: The Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate will host their 60th annual Dormition Pilgrimage at St. Mary’s Villa in Sloatsburg, NY on Saturday/Sunday August 9th and 10th. On Saturday evening at 5:00 PM there will be a Byzantine Ruthenian Divine Liturgy celebrated by the Rev. Basil Hutsko and the evening Services will conclude with the Moleben to the Mother of God at 8:00 PM with Bishop Kurt as Celebrant and Homilist. For more information go to www.ssmi-us.org

Community Yard Sale: The Beltsville Lion’s Club will host a Community Yard Sale in the Parking Lot of Behnke Nurseries Garden Center in Beltsville this Saturday, July 26th from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. St. Gregory’s will participate with a Bake Sale — besides our kolácsi we would appreciate donations of your favorite baked goods. You may bring baked items to the hall on Friday or frozen items any day this week — please call first to make sure I am here.

Giant Gift Cards: Giant gift cards are available for sale following the Divine Litury. Our parish receives 5% of the face value of the certificates at no additional cost to the purchaser.

Food for the Needy: Please keep in mind that food collections are not limited to the holiday seasons. Donations of non-perishable food items are needed year round to assist our neighbors in need.
