Bulletin March 26, 2017

Altar Candles: The altar candles are burning during the month of March for: +Michael, +Martha, +Kevin, & +Gregory Krofchik.

Let Us Remember in Prayer: Those who are ill or convalescing. May our Lord Jesus Christ, the Physician and Healer of souls and bodies, grant them peace and good health for many blessed years.
Please let Fr. Lewis know if anyone should be added or taken away from this prayer list.

The Mystery of Repentance and the Confessional: This Sacrament or Mystery offers us healing through the forgiveness of Jesus Christ. There are “cheatsheets” available so please don t be frightened of forgetting what to say or how to proceed if it has been a long time since the previous confession. But over time we can forget what a sin is or we may have never known, so examination of conscious pamphlets are available.

Byzantine Catholic Inquiry Classes: There seems to be a need for us to hold Inquiry Classes for those interested in becoming members of our particular Rite of Catholicism. These classes will begin after Bright Week, once Father Lewis has acquired the appropriate materials. However, those interested are highly encouraged to continue to participate in any and all services held by our parish. One basic lesson of Eastern Christian theology is that if you want to know what we believe, then come and pray with us, and you will learn what we believe. This is because our theology is present in all of our services, and during the Great Fast, we have a great opportunity to experience the variety of the Divine Office (daily cycle of services).

Reading and Epistle Chanting Practice: Some have already expressed interest in becoming Readers—one who chants the Epistle and other designated sections of the Divine Office services. Readers allow for more people to participate in Liturgy and allow the cantors a much needed break. We will begin to practice the art of chanting beginning Sunday the 19th after the Divine Liturgy. Anyone interested may attend.

Carpooling: Our parish is definitely one large family. And family members usually take care of each-other. If for any reason you may not be able to make it to a Divine Service because of transportation difficulty, please let Fr. Lewis know, and he can arrange for someone to pick you up. Already, people have offered to give rides to those who may be in need of them, and we should not deny them the opportunity to give. If anyone is interested in offering to pick someone up, please let Fr. Lewis know as well, so there can be a pool of people from different directions to choose from.

Pysanki Workshop: On Sunday, March 26th, Saint Gregory’s will host a parish pysanki-dyeing workshop. Please join us in continuing this ancient tradition. All are welcome, and supplies will be provided.

Eparchial Pilgrimages: Fr. Conan and Fr. Lewis are interested in grouping together so the faithful may attend this years pilgrimages. We would like to get a bus or van booked so that as many as possible can attend these important spiritual events. Please consider attending these events and place them on your calendar. Information will be coming soon. For those who may have children attend the Altar Server Camp, please know that they will be serving a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with Bishop Kurt at the Pilgrimage in Sybertsville, Pennsylvania.

Parish Cleanup and Fixing Day: On Saturday, April 8th, we will have a parish cleanup day and a day to fix odds and ends that need to be taken care of. We hope this will be a great preparation to beautify our Church grounds before the glorious feast of Pascha. We will provide food and a list of items needing to be fixed will be coming shortly. There will be plenty of opportunities for everyone of all strengths and abilities to help out. Please mark your calendars!
